Blessed Boys and Sweet Shoes

March 12th, 2010

It was baby boy day yesterday on the ol’ 5th Concession!  Two of my closest neighbours had boys, on the same day.  Our block is bursting with babies!  What a tremendous blessing for all of us.

When I was pregnant with Bob I fell in love with a new pair of Fluevogs.  And then one of those wonderful pregnancy side effects I had never previously heard of happened to me (not the weird spots on my gums, or the uncontrollable flatulence)… my feet grew.  And they have not yet shrunk back.

These beauties have bee worn out to dinner twice.  Where I walked to the truck, sat down and ate, and then walked back to the truck.  They are a size seven. They are in practically immaculate condition.  They are in the popular Hi Choice shoe family, and have the signature heart shaped heel, which is inscribed with “to love or to hate, the choice is yours“.   If you have size seven feet and want to buy a pair of Fluevogs, please email me at twwly@mac.com — no reasonable offer refused.

(Trying to turn a blind eye to the wine coloured Operetta Bartoli’s, which I would only molest with my hands and never wear… my $8 Canadian Tire wellies are my shoe of choice until it’s Sorel season again, for good manure-y reason.)

    I WISH I WAS A SEVENNNNNNNNNNNN.

(I saw your order from a week and a half ago, you have to let me know what you think of the GroBaby, for I hate them.)

PS. After going through that site and without reading your choice, I chose those boots as the ones I’d like to buy, along with the Soprano Inge and the Operettas Malibran in Turquoise. Sigh.

Gillian — OH NOES! MAH! I read some good reviews, went for it. Granted, Meeps has “potty graduated”… I wanted it for bedtime at the relatives place in Scotland, since they won’t have waterproof mattress pads (justincase) and the plane (justincase). They won’t have to work MUCH…. guess I’ll pack a BumGenius or two (justincase!)

What do you hate about ‘em?

  4. Thanks for the advice re: baby bathtub. Our kitchen sink is badly situated for baby baths (corner; very awkward), and haha–I remembered you saying you showered with Bob so I tried that once. Samson + showers does not make for a happy baby.

My Canadian Tire galoshes are one of my favourite pairs of shoes and I don’t have a manure-y reason. Does that make me weird?

I looove them and I am a size 7/7.5! I have no idea what to offer for them tho… The site’s prices are from $150 – $400 so I cant guess how much you paid for these.
But I am interested. Please email/contact me :)

The GroBabys were the first to leak (2 out of the 3 times we tried them) since Ash was really small. I have a hard time recommending them. Partially because I like hemp wayyyy more than cotton as far as absorbancy, and I like the fit of other diapers far more than the GroBabys. They do get good reviews from other people who’ve tried them, but my experience with them was not so good.

I’m size 9 on a good day, so I’m out too. And I have high arches and for some reason Fluevogs never fit me and that’s sad too. But I love these a lot, gorgeous green feet, just like Bob’s!

  8. Christi says:

Ugh if only I had spare money floating around I’d be all over those babies. Of course these days I’m also more apt to only molest and not actually wear.

But at least your feet only grew bigger. I’m afraid my poor knockers will never see my pretty 36C bras ever again! :D

  9. Ivy says:

Oh, how I wish I could wear heels and not stumble about like a newborn giraffe before collapsing in abject pain! Those Fluevogs are beautiful – I actually cooed at them when I saw the picture.

  10. Meghan says:

Oh no! I’m sad for you. I remember you mentioning these specific boots in a conversation the one day and you were totally still lusting over them then. :(

just got them and they fit perfectly! Thank you so much!!!
