Frosty Tipsss

January 18th, 2010

How beautiful are our willow trees?  Totally frosty tipsss.  Some of you are laughing.  Not many, but that’s OK.  The rest of you are (hopefully) enjoying the nice view.

Bob drew a motorcycle tonight.  He’s been on drawing strike for a while.  He’s been drawing cats, cars, excavators and loads of other mostly identifiable things for ages, but for what seems like ages, has done nothing really but scribble and then call it stuff.  (Like “this tattoo is of a dragon…fighting a poodle.”)  Hoping he’s getting back in the drawing saddle?  I would imagine this is the first of many waves to come.

We don’t have cable, but we do have DVDs.  My lovely friend Charmaine sent up a boxed set of early Muppet Show episodes and the kids think that “MENONMENON” and “Lydia the Tattooed Lady” are pretty much the best things ever to hit a screen.  They were SCREAMING with glee at the television.

Seriously, how great are her outfits?  Scott says she looks like a wacko dwarf bag lady, but I have to disagree.  She looks like an ADORABLE wacko baglady.

This week I have used two new appliances for the first time.  Our new juicer, and our new ice cream maker.  Hopefully the former will help quell the inevitable weight gain from the latter.

Meeps is fantabulose and so are her outfits!!! But, my parents gave me crayons, a hole puncher and some stickers and told me to “express myself” so i think i may be partial. haha

  2. quinn says:

and what kid of ice cream maker did you get??

  3. Sarah says:

That is about what it looked like here(Missouri) last week. Now it’s all melty and there was fog all day today and yesterday…it’s great. and Meeps is sooo cute with her little bag lady outfits.

I’ve been angling for an ice-cream maker for years………is it one that cools itself or one that you have to put in the freezer to cool (and does this sentence even make sense?). ;)

    Meeps’ ensembles are fabulous!

    Beautiful pics Ash. xoxo

Wow isn’t it a little early for Scott to shave his beard? Bet his face is cold!

I think Meeps outfits are awesome. Little kids really can wear anything and look adorable. It really isn’t fair, because if I tried it, I would look like some old cat lady. And Scott has no beard! What was the occasion, or was it just for a change? I hope his chin isn’t too cold. I would have a heart attack if I woke up and Patrick had shaved his beard. I don’t think I have ever seen his chin. I like the mystery! Adelaide has just started to draw randomly with crayons, when I give them to her supervised (she’ll eat them otherwise) and she gets so excited, I can’t wait to see if she gets into stuff like that, especially seeing as my hubby and I are both art majors.

    Meeps has serious style.

Meeps is sooooo cute. By the way, are those Baby Legs that she is wearing? I bought some for my son (not in leopard print though) and they are awesome. :)

Our icecream maker is “Cuisinart” and it is the type with the dish that you need to keep frozen in order to make it. Only takes about 25 minutes to MAKE, plus prep of course. I cannot belieeeeeve how delicious it is, man.

Was definitely a bit early for the beard shave — he usually shaves it for the Clifton visit so we don’t all get probed by customs, but I just honestly missed his face. So he shaved. I do generally prefer beard, I just forgot what he looked like under there!

Alex, Bob first started scribbling beside Scott as soon as he could physically grasp a pen. 6 months maybe? Everyone thought we were nuts to give him crayons so young, but he really enjoyed them.

Meeps is wearing “Hugalugs”, which I got at:

    They do great deals.

Love the blissed out happy Muppet faces, so gorgeous!

  14. Rachel says:

This is just the fun uppity kind of post I needed on a wintry day, thanks for the smiles!

I also have the same Cuisinart. It is seriously amazing!! Its easy to use, the recipes are simple and totally delsih. I hope you guys enjoy yours as much as we do ours.

A fun idea… I make layered yogurt/ice cream, granola and fruit cups in little jam jars and freeze them into little “ice cream cakes” for the family i nanny for and the kids go bananas for it.

i love how you dress her!! you’ve got mad baby stylin’ skills! sadly, working in the biz as i do, i see way too many parents who try to dress their kids like adults. it’s depressing. kids should look like kids and the more “whacko” and zany the better.

It has already been established that our cable-less life will continue with the inevitable arrival of children, and old Muppets and ORIGINAL Sesame Street will be staples. You can’t go wrong with Jim Henson. In fact, I think there should be a National Jim Henson day. Watch out for the icy patch!

Beautiful pics- I can’t believe how much Bob looks like his daddy! And I agree with Pam. Kids should look crazy and colourful! More often than I’d like to admit I find myself wishing random children’s items came in “big kid sizes”. Ha.

Adorable attire on the little Miss! Fabulous pictures as always!
As much as I loathe winter, last year we had some serious rain that covered all the trees in ice and it was breathtaking to see.

  19. Priscilla says:

Everyone in your family looks so rosy-cheeked and happy!

  20. Natalie says:

Gorgeous family. I always enjoy reading these entries. Thank you!!

  21. Minnie says:

Your adorable family make me want to run off with my best friend and breed. Oh dear me.

  22. Priscilla says:

As Bob’s brain develops, he will continue to go through phases where different bits of it don’t match up. That’s what’s happening when he scribbles and “calls it stuff.” Please don’t sweat it or value one phase over another! He’ll be grown up soon enough.
