Stray Cat Again

November 24th, 2009

There is no room at this inn.

Meet Rat Cat. She ran right between my legs and into our house the other week, having never been seen before around the farm. Every time I throw her out of the house, she bounces right back in like a rubber ball (or her face bounces off the glass because I’ve actually managed to shut it quick enough). She is noodle skinny and rabidly friendly. (insert name of your own choosing) would much rather live in your house, eat your cat food, purr on your lap than freeze to death glued to an exterior window of our house this winter.

Please shoot me an email if you would consider taking Rat Cat. She is a great mouser and could not be more affectionate.

PS. For the love of gawd, PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS.

**UPDATE: Little Rattacino was spayed today and picked up this evening to go to her new home!  I sure hope it works out!!**

**UPDATE: Cat spaying went fine, but new owner does not want a cat that goes outside.  This cat will use the litter box just fine, but does want to go outside to play. RattyCatty is back at our house and needs a new home.**
**UPDATEx3: Cat has gone to a new home, one with a barn she can live in if she is not fit for the house.  HOORAH!**

Love her face, she’s just my kind of girl! Totally unhelpful of course because I’m miles away but I hope you find her a nice home

  2. Jenni says:

Oh my god, this makes me so sad. I would take rat cat if only I lived on your side of the ocean. I hope you find a home for her soon.

  3. Krissa says:

I love her to pieces; her name is Golashes.
Can’t have cats here, though. If I could, I’d make the trek to Canada for a sweet Tortie! I love them.

  4. Ali says:

if there was any way she could be shipped south, I’d adopt her in a heart beat, what a beauty~

  5. Caitlin says:

Yep, she’s a cute kitty indeed. But I am a total sucker for scrawny weirdos.

  6. Twwly says:

Ali – how south??? I’ll drive!!!!!!!

  7. MK says:

It’s not fair. The cutest animals always seem to end up at your house and I live waaaaaay to far away to come and adopt them. Plus hubby would kill me if I adopted another animal–especially a cat. My heart is a sucker for animals. I wish I could add this one to the family, but I just can’t. :-( Hope you find her a home soon.

  8. Tasha says:

    That is an adorable kitty!

  9. choice says:

    aw, she chose you.

  10. Diane says:

Yes Ali – how far south ? maybe she can be shipped to you.
    I’ll help.
    :)

  11. Ali says:

FAR south, I’m afraid, way down in northern NV, USA. I don’t know if the cat would appreciate being shipped. I’m sure somebody will swoop her up from you soon anyway, or at least I hope so.

  12. Peter says:

Just sent you an email.. scratch that idea I work for a cargo company here in Miami and I’ve seen the way they ship animals. Please don’t ship her it’s torture.. and I agree with Caitlin..I love her because of her scrawny weirdo look too..

  13. Exploriment says:

I can attest to how insanely friendly she is. I had her on my chest purring away on Saturday night.

  14. Arkay says:

    thats a tenacious lil kitty

    Hi,
Thanks for visiting! It’s nice to meet another farm mama! I sure appreciate all this good work you’re doing! I’ll be back again and again to follow along on your farm adventure!

  16. michele says:

Thank you for having her spayed.

  17. Diane says:

I am so sorry to hear that rattycatty still doesn’t have a home, but I am so grateful that you got her spayed.
Have you ever thought of establishing a non profit animal rescue charity?
I am sure that you would be granted a license.
You do a lot of rescues, why not have help paying for it and through your blog you are reaching a huge number of people and making them aware of the plight of homeless animals.. and let’s face it – the little ones have a tendency to find you. :)
    You’re good people.
I donate to animal rescues on a regular basis and I am very confident that a lot of people are impressed with your willingness to look after these little ones – the (in)humane society here was just charged with numerous counts of animal cruelty – ain’t that a kick in the pants – I would be happy to help you get it set up and you could also get funding to help you look after them – and your vet bills would be a write off.
Sorry for the long rant but you do so much good for the little ones, I can’t think of a better person to champion the cause of abandoned and neglected animals.
    :)

hi, need some cat advice, if possible. I just adopted an eight year old kitty that I love to pieces and want to do things organically for him. I bought an organic, flushable cat litter and wondered your opinion on it. Any cat foods you would recommend, too. Thanks

  19. Twwly says:

Brenda! I have absolutely no idea I am sorry to report. I have no experience with flushable or organic litter, but I bet there is a forum somewhere out there on the internet with people who know.

Best of luck and enjoy your new friend!
