Hey! My 7 mo has a milk and soy protein sensitivity and he gets chesty and crackly too. Does she reflux? That's what would cause the chest issues; accidentally aspirating stomach contents into the lungs. It's true that they can't test for it. The only thing you can really do to see if she has it is to cut out all dairy from both of your diets (assuming that you're still breastfeeding). That can take up to 6 weeks. That's how long it took us to see a difference. I've been dairy and soy free since May 11th, and it's made a HUGE difference in him! Email me if you'd like more info!

Do you have a naturopath in your area? You know my struggles with GPs and allergies at a young age, but naturopaths will investigate, no questions asked. I'm going to one this Wednesday and I'm signing Ash up for an appointment ASAP too.

We've been avoiding dairy, though I should just cut it out and cut out the wheat.

I have been suspecting allergy, but my GPs nurse gave me the "you can't test for allergies this young", which is not true as you can. I am hoping to get a referral to a pediatrician out of this, even though they won't be anywhere near me. Would you believe I feel like driving to the USA for medical care?

I agree with Mike, milk is a huge mucus causer. Even if it's not an allergy it would probably help her lungs dry up faster to avoid it until she is well. Fresh fruit and vegetable juices cut with some water will help her body clear out the bacteria, and fresh figs are great for clearing up mucus in the body too. Hope she feels better soon. :)

My 2 year old son had the same symptoms for months but also had chronic ear infections. Antibiotic after antibiotic did nothing. We switched from cows milk to soy and he has been healthy for over 6 months. We went back to milk for a test and he got nasties in his chest again. Maybe there is some type of allergy? Good luck.

LoL @ the pajamas! that totally sounds like something dan would do too. but the best outfits are those that esmee puts together herself. like, one wool mitten, undies and shoes!

oh, and here is a (crappy) picture of chloe, our brindle boxer, that matches that rug of yours: http://knowthyfood.com/?p=291

I just love your conversation bit....aren't husbands funny!

I really got a kick out of your hubby and kiddos "lounging" together on the couch. Meeps is soooo cut standing on Scott. Your family just oozes love! Wonderful pictures!

Why are you now doing things in "approved kitchens"? Seems to be adding a new element of difficulty to the mix of things for you. Are you trying to sell to restaurants and "approved kitchens" are required?
