Tattoodlin

July 8th, 2009

My pal Tim tattooed my little goat on me while he was here!  It’s a portrait of Bucky, our little rescued goat.  We named him Bucky for the goat in one of Bob’s favourite books “The Goat That Went to School“, and the refrain “Bucky was Plucky!” keeps on through the book and definitely captures our Bucky’s spirit.  Totally silly, totally awesome.

bucky was plucky he kept right on

I am taking a brief break from cleaning my manky cheese covered kitchen to post this.  The kids are doing this amazing thing called PLAYING TOGETHER, which is a total sanity saver.  For every minute they spend entertaining eachother, I gain back the tiny parts of my brain that wither when they cry in unison.

Do you have this book?? Do you know where I can find it. I have been looking for years……

and as they get older the “cry in unison” can be replaced with “fight” ! now i have two to fight and two to cry in unison. but when all three older girls play together…..soooo good.

    love the tattoo

GEEZ. I can’t imagine the fight in unison. Mags is just starting to push back, so the fighting has only just begun. She screams now (shrieks really) when he takes stuff she wants. I can only imagine what it’s gonna be like when she’s verbal.

    nice work!

the play together is heaven. sometimes zoe and esmee entertain each other for HOURS! i don’t really like it when zoe wants to give esmee make overs, but i let zoe do it just for the peace and quiet it buys me.

other times, all they do is BICKER! drives me absolutely friggin insane.

I would be interested in reading about your thoughts/feelings on being tattooed in general.

    Gorgeous, mama!

  12. Jamie says:

Yes the fights are legendary around here. However my favorite “complaint” from one child regarding another is “Mooooooooooommmmmmmmmm she’s SMILING at me!”

I just found a great website called ‘No mother left behind” about getting slings to families who can’t afford them so that babywearing can be for everyone. Thought you might like to have a gander because it reminded me of something i might hear about on your blog.

Wow, what area did you get that tattooed on? Is that your calf or arm? Cropped in like that it’s kind of hard to tell…

Bucky cracks me up and that “portrait” of him is wonderful.
