Market

July 6th, 2009

The market went great!   In the end we got way more chevre out of the milk than we were expecting to and we also sold more than we were expecting to.  Total success.  We’ll be there again this Saturday, for sure.

I also sold enough soap that I paid off my small batch!

Our friends are up visiting from the states.  The annual Scottish Festival was this weekend, so there’s been lots of tartan entertainment.  We managed to take in the heavy events and the parade.  Hoping to light off a bunch of fireworks here tonight too.

Caught a little mouse in the house this morning.  I usually immediately kill them but Bob started in with the “I love MOUSE!  Mouse so SWEET!”  So I plunked it into his wheel barrow and he pushed it down to the end of the driveway where we let it loose to “play with his friends”.  I dare say I am going a bit soft.

mouseObject in real life was much smaller than it appears here.  It wasn’t even as big as the end of my thumb!

The chunk was definitely the best choice, it looks fantastic. I did like the tube but the design looks infinitely better flat. Love the soap packaging too.

i’m not a huge fan of mouses but a not-even-thumb sized one must be cute!!!

Congrats on the market. Sometimes I miss my market days when I’d sell jelly at our local one. But the market itself has become sort of shady so I won’t sell there anymore. :( If you ever do website sales let me know…I’ll be first in line!

Well done on the market! I’m sure you guys are well on your way to becoming Cheese-mongers of Repute! ;)

Seriously though, you are so jacked up! I feel like such a slacker after reading your blog! (Note to self: Must get Folksy shop up and running!)

Does the market go right up till the snow starts to fly? By gum, I will make it there and I will support your organic farming habits. And I would like some soap please. Some species of mice are tiny tiny tiny…that one looks like a field mouse…………

You are doing a fantastic job of raising compassionate, caring children who value ALL life.. except, of course, fleas, mosquitoes and cockroaches.
So happy that the market went well.

when i was a kid, one winter i secretly was feeding these little mice that were living in our garage. well those three or so mice turned into a million and seven and my dad went berserk and had to exterminate them. very sad lesson for me… long story short at least bobs not feeding them haha.

    Hello My Dear,
Sassy and I devoured the plain goat cheese shortly after we bought it on Saturday. I have to say…THE best goat cheese EVER! So smooth and mild. Yummers. Then Rolie and I finished off the Chocolate Chevre the next day. Thank you for making it.
