The Other Car

Scott was in a car accident.  This is what remains of the Mazda that pulled out 10 feet in front of my husband’s bright red, loud as a crop duster, jacked up 20 year old Toyota 4Runner yesterday afternoon.

Scott is OK.  The girl is OK, I don’t know how.

Fire started under the hood immediately after impact and it exploded TWICE in the middle of the street.  The highschool kids out on lunch sure got a show.  She is being charged.  And we are no doubt about to bend over for the insurance company.  The truck is going to need some suspension work (though from a glance it looks unscathed).  BUT the blue book value of Ruby is nothing, and Scott only a few months ago installed years worth of collected parts into her.  (Which I cannot imagine we would be able to find all of the receipts for).  I am trying not to grind my teeth in advance.

Feels like we have been faced with an onslaught of idiots lately.   One, exactly one week ago today who took our dog from our sideroad, brought him back to his place and promptly lost him.  Two, the girl yesterday who has the driving skills of a ferret.

now if only Puppers would come home.

For sure there had to have been something wrong with the girl’s car for it to have exploded TWICE. And what was she doing on the road with it in the first place?!
Glad Scott’s okay. Phew. Close one.

It was explained to me how it went twice, though I don’t know enough about vehicles to explain it again! There is even video, for better or worse.

I hope her Daddy grounds her, that’s for sure. Though I would imagine she’s learned her lesson after this!

Holy fucking shit. At least everyone’s ok. Seriously, who doesn’t see that 4Runner?!

yikes! that is scary! i’m happy to hear nobody got injured though. although that sucks about scott’s car after he put all those parts into it….

  7. I am glad to hear that Scott is ok.
I called a while ago to see if Scott would be interested in doing some flash for my next film.
I have some time this week and I am pretty handy with vehicular repair, so if you would like some help please let me know.
Also, if you would like some help finding Puppers, I’d be glad to come up and help out for a couple of days.
