We are constantly taking pictures of our kids. With Bob, I was pretty good about printing them, getting them into albums. There are lots of albums. Well, poor Meeps is 9+ months now and she’s got not one single picture in an album. I had a whole whack of pictures printed in one go – over 800 of them. Now I have some project ahead of me to make sure they are sorted chronologically and stuck in a book! Won’t be doing that again!
Behold two hundred bucks worth of 4x6s:

Organized a Fifth Concession Get Together this past Sunday for all the families who live on this long road called Concession 5. There was not a very big turn out, despite my flyering. (Though the chats were well, well worth it – we have the nicest neighbours). I have volunteered to organize again next year, and I think perhaps I’ll do two rounds of flyers, one a month before and one a week before.
After a conversation with one of my neighbours there, I also think I’ll attend next months local W.I. (Women’s Institute) meeting. The average age of women attending I think is 70, but if they take a liking to me I would bet my farm that I could learn a heck of a lot from hanging around those ladies! My neighbours sweet pickles are, no exaggeration, the best I have ever eaten. (I hardly shared and ate the whole jar in about three days). The possibilities abound!
Poor Suki the Goat is sure succeeding in her role as decoy to protect our pregnant doe Buffy from the wrath of Dibly and Sainte Marie. The trounce her ten times an hour. They don’t let her sleep in the goat hut, so Scott nailed a piece of plywood to the side of it so she’d have somewhere to get out of the rain. (It was raining the day we discovered that they weren’t letting her in, poor thing was outside MLAA-ting her face off, soaked. Rain is goat kryptonite, so Scott took immediate action to help her out). Everytime she sees me outside, she comes running to the fence, shouting. Everytime I try to leave she tries to sneak out with me, and stands with her little face and hooves crammed through the fence as far as they can go, calling after me. Sucky Suki, no doubt about it. The power balance will shift again in August, when Buffy is due. Hopefully things get better for her then.
Meeps has gotten her top teeth. Behold her fierce shark like fangs!

She’s fierce I tell you, fierce! Here she is geeking a SHEEP:

Alright! Sun is shining, therefore we must go outside to play!
gah, pictures. not only do i take so many less now, i haven’t printed any in almost 2 years ! eek. it’s a project i’m dreading, but really need to get back on top of. where did you get yours printed?
These goats aren’t for eating, are they?
I’m getting attached……………….
I thought the goaties were for milking and mowing the lawn…
we are pretty bad about pictures…though i have been using my new phone to take lots of new pictures…
dont you love those lil padraig shoes? i found those just in time for winter for Freya and they are one of the only shoes that she can wear due to her synthetic fabric allergy-minor victories-yay!
I’m HORRIBLE about pictures these days. I snap the pictures…I just forget to print them…and albums are a myth in this house.
Padraig rock so hard! Bob has several pairs, which Meeps is going to wear (they are in great condition) and I got a pair too. SO awesome.
Goats are for milk and lawn mowing primarily. They aren’t meat goats (while they may be fat as hell, they don’t have anywhere near the body type of a Boer) but I would imagine we will probably eat an unwanted boy or two at some point, when I wind up being a crazy goat lady with 50+ goats. And I have to admit, I am really partial to goat curry.
For now at least, we have NO plans to thin the herd. I do threaten them occasionally with the curry pot when they misbehave!
Your little Meeps is absolutely precious! These most recent photos are adorable!
I too like loved the Padraig booties when Hannah was younger! They were just so nice for all of fall, winter and spring! I am sad she grew out of hers, but really should look online to find some more for her next year. (Do they hold up when “walked” on? Hannah wasn’t walking when she wore hers, so I didn’t get to find out.)
Good luck with the pictures, I am in the same boat! I’d love to get around to working on her scrapbook, but haven’t done so in about a year now. Yikes!
~M~
Meeps looks so much like you! She so totally has your eyes, and she looks so very happy
I am sure they drive you nuts when they *aren’t* happy, but those smiles are really something.
I’ve been obsessed with joining the WI for years. Sadly I don’t think I’d be very welcome at the one in the village here, they are renowned for being unwelcoming. Oh well, one day, maybe I’ll gather some friends to help me stage an infiltration.
Let me know if you ever do infiltrate! I am hoping ours will be welcoming. We shall see – I’ll definitely be reporting back.
