Puds

My first time making Yorkshire Puds, as documented above. I should have left them in a little longer, Scott was right. But I was worried about them burning. So I pulled them out and they fell, and even though I put them back in, they didn’t get QUITE baked enough. Next time, I shall triumph. Next time.

Maggie loves her new high chair. She’s not eating any solids yet, just wooden toys. Though she is working on cutting her first tooth. On her third day of nursing every 20 minutes all night long, peeing every half an hour and generally being stuck to me like glue, I looked in her mouth and low and behold one of her gums has a little white speck, that nestled in there below the surfaces lays a tooth. An infernal tooth. For such little things, they can wreak so much havoc. It’s settled down a bit, but is nowhere near through yet. When it comes through I will start feeding her some solid foods.

Meeps has also decided to start crawling. Just the day after I discovered the tooth on the move, she practiced pulling herself around our bed and then the next morning, she was off. Army style dragging AND starting to alternate leg-style crawling across our floors. I am NOT ready for this! Too big, too soon! Too many small parts! Man.

And the picture on the right: Reason Number 9,732 why I love co-sleeping. Waking up to that incredible sight just rocks my world every morning.

Bob loves playing “Sleeping Bunnies”, singing the ABCs while playing piano and reciting “Hush Little Baby”. He thinks it’s hilarious when the dogs get in trouble, and loves to play with his Big Helpers (Tonka trucks) in the snow. His favourite book is still The Lorax, with Little Bear a close second. He plays most at his little wooden Vilac workbench. It’s a great toy. He can fix and hammer and do stuff, but when he puts all the nails and bolts and whatnot away, it’s not married to being a tool bench. So we play restaurant, he serves me hot tea while he drinks apple juice and eats Dippy Egg, and then he pays (using his wooden Haba cash register). He loves going to play group on Fridays and has been working on blowing bubbles in the tub (swimming starts monday, hoping we might be working up to getting his face wet soon!)

Why does life pass so quickly?

I have discovered Etsy.Com has some super cute stuff. I’ve ordered Maggie some teething necklaces, and am seriously contemplating a new pair of shoes for spring & summer too. Though the booties are too effing cute for words, she already has winter boots. And I think I might have to order those felt daffodil ponytail holders………. for…….me.

*blush*

Well I have finished my first sewing project at my friend Ida’s house. It’s a simple little dress and when she wears it in the spring I will take a picture of her in it. It has a pocket on the outside and a little bow as to make it “Un-Amish” so that we are not breaking any “rules”. Hehe. Very cute.

I am currently making a buttermilk culture for a cheese date.
